Welcome to Laptop Gemologist. By accessing this website or engaging our independent consulting, diamond sourcing, or gemstone advisory services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Scope of Consulting Services

Laptop Gemologist provides independent gemological consulting, diamond and gemstone sourcing guidance, and trade advisory services.

  • All guidance, market analyses, and sourcing recommendations are based on expert evaluation, industry standards, and data available at the time of consultation.

  • Laptop Gemologist acts solely as an independent advisor and sourcing specialist. Sourcing recommendations do not constitute a financial investment guarantee or a formal binding appraisal unless explicitly contracted as a separate certified appraisal document.

2. Independent Gemological Evaluations

  • Expert Opinion: Gemological assessments—including stone identification, color grading, clarity estimations, and detection of treatments—are professional evaluations conducted in accordance with standard gemological testing practices and Gemological Institute of America (GIA) criteria.

  • Laboratory Certificates: When sourcing stones on behalf of clients, third-party laboratory reports (such as GIA certificates) represent the primary official grading record. Laptop Gemologist is not liable for discrepancies or variations in third-party grading standards across different gemological laboratories.

3. Sourcing & Client Retainers

  • Sourcing requests and custom market searches may require a non-refundable consulting retainer or deposit prior to commencing trade sourcing, as outlined in individual client service agreements.

  • Stone availability and wholesale market pricing are subject to rapid change. Quotes provided during consultation are valid for the timeframe specified in your individual proposal or invoice.

4. Limitation of Liability

Laptop Gemologist shall not be held liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of consulting recommendations, secondary market price fluctuations, or third-party jewelry manufacturing, mounting, or alteration of sourced gemstones after delivery to the client.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, original analysis, website materials, and branding associated with Laptop Gemologist are the property of Jacqueline Bell, GG, AJP. Unauthorized reproduction or commercial distribution without prior written consent is strictly prohibited.
